Cemoir Music Awards 2025

Introduction

Cemoir Music Awards 2025 (abbreviated as CMAs 2025) is an annual music awards ceremony presented by Cemoir, celebrating achievements in music across multiple genres and categories. The 2025 ceremony marks the second edition of the awards, following Irish hip-hop group Kneecap’s win for Album of the Year with their self-titled debut, and Irish band Fontaines D.C.’s victories in Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for “Starburster,” the lead single from their fourth studio album Romance.

For 2025, the Cemoir Music Awards will present ten main categories. Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Debut of the Year, Producer of the Year, and European Song of the Year (also known as Eurovision Song of the Year) remain unchanged from the previous edition, while the number of nominees has expanded. The Song of the Year category has increased from 20 to 24 nominees, and Artist of the Year has added two additional nomination slots.

The International Cemoir Music Award (ICMA) has evolved into a year-long selection process, following Kneecap’s dual wins in both the international and main categories. For ICMA 2025, a total of 51 countries submitted entries. Throughout November 2025, both the longlist and shortlist were announced on Cemoir’s social media platforms.

Album of the Year from Türkiye continues to pay homage to Cemoir’s homeland, highlighting emerging talent and notable productions from Türkiye’s contemporary music scene across a variety of genres.

This edition introduces two new main categories. Breakthrough of the Year recognizes musicians whose artistic vision has created a global sensation or marks the discovery of a major new voice. Collaboration of the Year honors outstanding cooperative works that contributed to some of the year’s most acclaimed music.

In CMAs 2025, 18 genre-focused awards will also be presented across six spotlighted genres: Rock, Punk, Dance, Pop, Hip Hop, and Singer-Songwriter. Cemoir has additionally stated that, in future editions, these genre-specific awards may vary or expand depending on the strength and volume of artistic output within each genre.

CMAs 2025: Winners & Nominations

Manchester-based post-punk band Maruja won the ceremony’s top honor, Album of the Year, for their debut LP Pain to Power. The band also secured victories in four additional categories: Song of the Year for “Look Down On Us,” Debut of the Year, Punk Album of the Year, and Punk Song of the Year. This marks the second time a debut album has won Album of the Year, following Kneecap’s victory in 2024.

Turnstile achieved major success with wins in both Artist of the Year and Breakthrough of the Year, supported by the impact of their widely acclaimed sophomore LP Never Enough, its promotional campaigns, and their highly publicized tour of the same name.

While Pulp, Miley Cyrus and Celeste dominated their respective genre categories—Rock, Pop and Singer-Songwriter—each securing three awards, while artists such as Rochelle Jordan, Bad Bunny, ROSALÍA, Loyle Carner, Kae Tempest, and Clipse each received at least one award within their fields.

After a year-long selection process, Bad Bunny won the International Cemoir Music Award (ICMA) with the entry “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS,” representing Puerto Rico. This marked Puerto Rico’s first nomination and first victory in the ICMA. Linda Martini of Portugal placed second with “Passa-Montanhas,” while Norwegian post-hardcore band Honningbarna finished third with “Soft Spot.”

In Türkiye’s dedicated category, Sren won Album of the Year from Türkiye with their debut album Başka Bir Hayat Mümkün, highlighting the strength of the Turkish alternative rock scene. The other two nominated artists, HERYOL and mojave, received honorable mentions for their contributions to the growth and vitality of the local music landscape in 2025.
